AI Chat Terms of Use

1. About the AI chat assistant

AlanUmbro Società Semplice Agricola (brand: VerdePaciano) ("we", "our", or "us") offers an AI-powered chat assistant on verdepaciano.com (the "AI Assistant"). The AI Assistant helps visitors learn about our extra virgin olive oil products, production methods, and general olive oil information.

By using the AI Assistant, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the chat feature.

2. What the AI Assistant is not

2.1. The AI Assistant is not a human. It is an automated system that generates responses based on patterns in training data and product information we provide.

2.2. The AI Assistant does not provide professional advice of any kind. Its responses should not be treated as:

  • Nutritional or dietary advice
  • Medical or health guidance
  • Legal advice
  • Financial or investment advice

2.3. If you need professional advice on any of these topics, consult a qualified professional.

3. Accuracy and limitations

3.1. AI-generated responses may contain errors, outdated information, or statements that sound plausible but are incorrect. This is sometimes called "hallucination" and is a known limitation of AI systems.

3.2. While we do our best to provide the AI Assistant with accurate product information, we cannot guarantee that every response will be correct or complete. Always verify important information, especially regarding allergens, nutritional content, or product specifications, by checking product labels or contacting us directly at info@verdepaciano.com.

3.3. The AI Assistant's knowledge has limits. It may not be aware of recent changes to our product lineup, pricing, or availability.

4. Data handling

4.1. When you use the AI Assistant, we process the messages you send in order to generate responses. See our Privacy Policy (Section 12) for full details on AI chat data handling.

4.2. Chat conversations are stored in our database to provide continuity across visits. If you use the chat as a guest, an anonymous session is created automatically. You may delete your conversations at any time. Guest conversations persist until deleted or until the anonymous session expires (24 hours of inactivity).

4.3. We do not use your chat conversations to train AI models.

4.4. Your acceptance of these terms is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is not transmitted to our servers.

5. Acceptable use

5.1. You agree not to use the AI Assistant to:

  • Submit abusive, threatening, or harassing content
  • Attempt to extract confidential business information
  • Generate content that violates applicable laws
  • Bypass safety filters or manipulate the system into producing harmful content
  • Impersonate another person or entity

5.2. We reserve the right to limit or disable access to the AI Assistant if we detect misuse.

6. Limitation of liability

6.1. The AI Assistant is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

6.2. AlanUmbro Società Semplice Agricola is not liable for any loss, damage, or harm resulting from your reliance on information provided by the AI Assistant.

6.3. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

7. Indemnification

7.1. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AlanUmbro Società Semplice Agricola from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the AI Assistant or your violation of these terms.

8. Automated ordering (future feature)

8.1. In the future, the AI Assistant may be able to perform actions on your behalf, such as adding items to your cart, placing orders, or managing account preferences.

8.2. Before any such features are enabled, we will require your separate, explicit consent for each type of automated action. No automated transactions will occur without your prior approval.

8.3. Any orders placed through the AI Assistant will be subject to our Terms of Sale, including the right of withdrawal and all consumer protection rights under Italian law (D.Lgs. 206/2005).

9. Changes to these terms

9.1. We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.

9.2. If we make material changes, we will reset the chat consent prompt so you can review the updated terms before continuing to use the AI Assistant.

10. Applicable law and jurisdiction

10.1. These terms are governed by the laws of the Italian Republic.

10.2. For any dispute relating to these terms, the competent court is the Court of Perugia (Tribunale di Perugia), Italy, without prejudice to the consumer's right to bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence under applicable consumer protection law.
